Do-It-Yourself Electronic Kits


tinyCylon logotinyCylon

The tinyCylon is a multi-mode LED Larson scanner kit.  It has five LEDs that blink or glow in various patterns.  The tinyCylon is built around a Atmel AVR microcotnroller, the ATtiny13.  It is already pre-programmed with multiple LED sequences.  If you have the right equipment and software, you can re-program the chip with your own patterns – even after it has been assembled!  The tinyCylon comes with a 3xAAA battery holder with a cover and power switch.  Three AAA batteries are required but not included.

Lux Spectralis logo

The Lux Spectralis is a deluxe RGB blinky that you can build!  It has a super-bright red+green+blue LED that is controlled by a pre-programmed microcontroller (the Atmel AVR ATtiny13).  It has over 30 flashing, blinking and glowing modes.  You can use it as a night-light, a reading lamp, a strobe or just an all-around fun blinker.  The Lux Spectralis comes with a 3xAAA battery holder with a cover and power switch.  Three AAA batteries are required but not included.

Wee Blinky logoWee Blinky

The Wee Blinky kit is an easy-to-solder two (2) LED blinker circuit.  This kit makes a great “learn to solder” project.  It comes with a 9V battery snap, but will work with almost any voltage from 3V to 12V.  A 9V battery is required but not included.

Smart Battery Meter

The Smart Battery Meter is specifically designed to measure and report the “state of charge” of a rechargeable lead acid battery.  It features a multi-color 6 LED display that instantly tells you at a glance how much juice is left in your battery.

Note:  The Smart Battery Meter does not work accurately with battery chemistries other than lead acid, such as NiCD, NiMH or Li-Ion.
